MAGNIFICON 2016

Let me tell You about event that I participated in. It was Magnificon (the biggest meeting of fans of manga and anime) 2016. Attractions dured about 3 days (27.05-29.05) - part of Friday, whole Saturday and Sunday in EXPO (Galicyjska Street 29). I was there only on Saturday but it was great experience. So - come on!

Waking up and making my cosplay!
Some words about my cosplay. It wasn't very sophisticated  because I started thinking about it too late and I had some problems with choosing it    (but this is another long story... :D).

So this is basic Japanese school uniform, but I wanted it to be more unofficial. That's why I wore shorter skirt. And I gave up on kneesocks. I added dark blue ribbon to my loose pony tail.
I decided to have very light make-up so I used:

Walking in. The basement of EXPO is huge. Two floors: on the first one - enormous halls. On second - a lot of tables to eat something.

Let's say more about attractions:

• Reading corner

Puffs and manga. What more is needed for otaku (huuuuge fan of manga, anime and Japan)? Maybe more money for more tomes of manga an trip to Japan. I saw there some interesting titles and I can't wait to read them!

• Wearing traditional national costumes and writing your name in Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Hindu

This two attractions were organized by Instytut Bliskiego I Dalekiego Wschodu. Visitors could wear kimono [to precise -  yukata (Japanese costume)], hanbok (Korean costume) and Sari (from India). I chose white yukata with violet flowers and beautiful,glistening obi (crimson).

• Concerts of Japanese stars

We could see fantastic performances of Fumika, Bridear and Plasticzooms . I had a pleasure to see Fumika live and she was really friendly and talented!

• Lessons and pannels

There were shows about cosplay, make-up, music, Karaoke, history of Japan, street legends from Tokio shows of Samurai, and my favourite one: about LOLITAS (a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is based on Victorian and Edwardian clothing, but the style has expanded greatly beyond Japan) conducted by fantastic Russhian cosplayer Astarohime Koyu. She was talking about history, types, rules and community. 

Here are some examples of her works:

• Annnnnnd~ the most important one.......... COSPLAY!!!!

During 3 days we could see a lot of characteres from manga, anime, films and computer games. But the crowning of these days were 3 types of 1 contest:Cosplay Debiut, Cosplay Standatd and EURO Cosplay.

• Cosplay Debiut - You want to try Your best for the first time on the stage in role of someone other? Try this type!
• Cosplay Standard - next level of Cosplay Debiut - just for fun.
• EURO Cosplay - Polish elimination for European contest of cosplay in London. Congratulation for the winner!

After all this things You are really hungry so you could try traditional Japanese food and desserts like sushi, tayaki, mochi, bubble tea or You could buy famous sets for making some deliciousness. But if You don't like this traditional yummy plates, You could buy such things like burgers or coffe.

Stuff to buy:
There were enormous number of stuff. You could choose between pens, pillows, posters, potts, buttons, jewellery, teddies or even all costumes, wigs and lenses. But the most important one: manga. There where 3 stands of publishing houses. Used manga, new ones, a lot of titles and types - hundreds of them!

After all day spend inside the building I was so tried! That was my first this type of happening and - for sure - not last. You could talk with this people even you didn't know them before! The atmosphere was fantastic! On YouTube You can find a lot of relations from this happening. Maybe some of You were on that type of event?
